Allen Wooldridge - Guitars & Lead Vocals

I was just a toddler in the 60's. My parents exposed me to music at the drive-in theater. Watching Elvis in G.I Blues back then was sort of like watching a music video today. I was just six years old when I would see my sisters fighting with their girl friends over which Beatle was the cutest: John, Paul, George, or Ringo. Oh, I can't leave out the battles over which overall band was the cutest: The Beatles, The Herman Hermits or The Rolling Stones. At the age of seven I won the heart of my first girl friend by singing my first original song that I called 'I Want to Kiss Your Lips'. I promise it was only a coincidence it sounded like the Beatles 'I Want to Hold Your Hand'. I definitely got to see and hear the 60's pop culture where it really happened, but I thank God I was too young to be a part of the Vietnam social upheaval and I am glad I missed it. Christmas 1971, my parents gave me my first guitar. A few years later, I was flying high when a local music store was so impressed with my songs that they backed me and set me up with my own band, it didn't help any that I was under 18. By the time I was sixteen, I knew how nasty the music business could be. I knew I just wanted to be loved and I could see that love was something the music business didn't deal in (then or now). Early in my life and without regret I got married. I invested my life in building a promising relationship with my wife over that of a promising career in music. My love affair with music did not end; it never really took a heartbeats break. Music has been the other woman in my life. I've created and played in so many bands, some were actually pretty good. In the early 80's, while serving a hitch in the Navy I got orders to 'A girl behind every tree Keflavik, Iceland' the joke is there are no trees in Iceland. Even there, on a lunar landscaped rock of an island, I somehow formed a band. Of course we could only gig in a couple of places: the Petty Officers Club called 'The Windbreaker' or the enlisted club called 'The Top Of The Rock'. I just remember always being asked to turn down. Yes that was my generation's testosterone motivated music: Van Halen, Foreigner, Loverboy, AC/DC and a whole lot of other guitar bands. I'm pretty sure my guitar amp was turned up a few decibels. By the mid 80's I turned most of my attention toward the growing Christian contemporary music scene. I am always ready to share my faith in Jesus Christ by way of the songs I wrote during that period. Yes, quite a few years have rolled by, and with two children, two grandchildren and still with the wife of my youth. I now have been given again the privilege to sing and play with some of the finest musicians that the music business has produced. I truly enjoy playing and performing with this great group of friends we call ourselves 'THE COMPANY' and I think you will enjoy us too. Don't be afraid to drop by the stage and introduce yourself when you see us,
                       Allen

P.S: I still occasionally have to turn down but I have been tempered with age!
