Peter Duffy - Bass & Vocals
Peete's Love of music began at a very early age. As a toddler, he was allowed to stay up late one night a week to watch 'The Mitch Miller Show!' Later, shows like 'Ed Sullivan', 'American Bandstand' and 'Where The Action Is', exposed him to the popular music scene. That, coupled with a close relationship with his older teenage sister Maureen, allowed Pete to experience the Rock & Roll revolution of the 60's as it happened!
At the age of 15 he was enjoying the great underground music the FM radio stations were playing, when a close friend turned him onto 'The Grateful Dead'. Here he found a source of traditionally rooted, free form improvisational music that was as inspirational and radical as Coltrane and Parker had been to musicians just a few generations before him. He has gratefully been a 'Dead Head' ever since. Pete enjoys many forms of music, from classical to Rock, Bluegrass to Traditional Irish music. His personal music collection spans Beethoven to Zappa! In 1997 Pete was forced to retire from a 23-year career in the steamship business, due to a rare degenerative retinal disorder. About a year later he picked up his bass, which he had not played seriously since high school, but had always dreamed of returning to. Over the past few years he has played in several local area bands and is honored to be a member of 'The Company'!

Karloff 'The Wonder Dog'
Pete's vision continues to decline, and though thankfully his peripheral vision is unaffected, his condition makes him hypersensitive to light and his center vision is all but gone. In Jan. 2005, he traveled to Guiding Eyes For The Blind, in Yorktown Heights, N.Y., where he received a very special gift; his guide dog 'Karloff'! THE COMPANY is a proud supporter of GEB!
